Cookery Course
During our 2011 visit we enrolled at the Metropole Hotel cooking class.
It sounds terribly touristy but it was actually fascinating. This was partly because it included a trip to the market to buy the ingredients first. We toured the market with one of the junior chefs and helped (well at least tried to help) negotiate prices for the produce we needed.
Back in the hotel kitchens we were let loose on cooking the starters for lunch including the famous Vietnamese “nem” spring rolls.
Sadly we were made to eat what we had cooked.
