2003 – Europe – “Cheap Flights”

Madrid, Barcelona and Turin

By the early 2000s airfares in Europe were starting to fall to lower and lower levels. The emergence of new carriers like easyJet and Ryanair meant that flying from London to some of the big cities in Europe cost next to nothing. If you were prepared to travel mid-week and forgo taking luggage it was even cheaper.

We took advantage of these new fares and made some weekend trips to Madrid and  Barcelona on easyJet.  We even went once “for lunch” to Turin on Ryanair.

Here are a few pictures of Barcelona, Turin and Madrid .
