Two trips to Brazil
During 2011 and 2012 I made two separate business trips to Brazil. The first one involved Rio, Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo. The second one was concentrated only in Sao Paulo.
I loved Brazil and I think that this was partly due to the fact that I was lucky to be accompanied by Brazilians most of the time. The place I experienced was full of friendly people, wonderful things to eat and drink and interesting things to see.

Yet, there is certainly a little bit of “danger” around and you can certainly feel it some of the time especially when walking around on your own. It does add to the excitement a bit.

I managed a little bit of time off during both trips to see and experience a few things. Here are 13 of them –
1 – Visiting Rio Cathedral. It is quite an amazing modern structure.

2 – Taking the cable car up Sugar Loaf Mountain and enjoying the view from the top

3 – Taking the funicular train up to the Art Deco statue of Jesus on Corcovado

4 – Walking along the world-famous beaches at Ipanema and Copacabana.

5 – Visiting the fish market on the Rio shore

6 – Visiting the cathedral in Sao Paulo. It is a more traditional structure than Rio’s.

7 – A ride on the Sao Paulo subway –

8 – Visiting the amazing Sao Paulo Market

9 – Drinking the local Beer

10 – Spending a wonderful night at a Sao Paulo pub listening to samba music and dancing until the early hours.

11 – Drinking strong Brazilian coffee the next morning

12 – Sampling the vast array of food ranging from the amazing meat restaurants to the snack food.

13 – Sipping a caipirinha – Brazil’s delicious national cocktail made with sugar cane liquor, sugar and lime
